Hebrew Bible Decoded Online Course

In these 5 modules, you’ll gain an introductory understanding of how Moses Maimonides approached the text of the Hebrew Bible. This course implements the Orton-Gillingham Approach to learning, where you will learn with audio-visual tools, including maps, videos, and audio recordings. You can learn at your own pace and return to modules at your convenience. Each module will build on the previous one, with a review at the beginning and end of each lesson.

This curriculum focuses on the anthropological and linguistic analysis of the Tanakh; Hebrew philology, morphology, and grammar; Sephardic history; Hazzanuth; Talmud; Geonic responsa; Andalusian rabbinic jurisprudence; and Responsa of the Western Sepharadim. Students learn all areas of Jewish law, with a strong foundation of the Mishneh Torah, and practical rabbinics (Marriage, Divorce, Counseling, and Arbitration). Some students are also taught ritual slaughtering, and horticulture. Moreover, the students must take courses in public speaking, arbitration, philosophy, psychology, and counseling.
